Question 1

How long does a pool heat pump typically last?

Accepted Answer

With proper annual servicing and balanced pool water chemistry, a quality pool heat pump typically lasts 8 to 12 years. In coastal environments, regular rinsing of the evaporator coil prevents premature corrosion and extends the life of the unit.

Question 2

Why is my pool heat pump running but not heating the water?

Accepted Answer

The most common reasons are low refrigerant from a leak, a blocked evaporator coil, a faulty water flow switch, an undersized run time during colder weather, or lack of a thermal pool cover allowing heat to escape faster than it is produced.

Question 3

How often does a pool heat pump need servicing?

Accepted Answer

We recommend servicing your pool heat pump once a year, ideally in autumn or early spring. Regular servicing cleans the coil of salt and debris, checks electrical components, and ensures the heat exchanger remains undamaged by water chemistry.

Question 4

How do you size a pool heat pump for a Sunshine Coast pool?

Accepted Answer

Sizing is based on pool water volume, surface area, wind exposure, shade, and whether you use a pool blanket. A free on-site quote allows us to measure these factors and specify the correct kilowatt output for your pool.

Question 5

What does a diagnostic visit cost?

Accepted Answer

We charge a $77 inc GST service fee plus labour, billed at $130 inc GST per hour with a one hour minimum. That makes the first hour $207 inc GST, which covers the full diagnostic check on site. We then provide a clear written price before any further repair work begins.

Accepted Answer

We service Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Kawana, Caloundra, Baringa, Coolum, Noosa, Sunshine Beach, Mapleton, Maleny, and North Lakes. We are based locally on the Sunshine Coast.
